For Throwback Thursday I was thinking about dice having recently
received a big swag order for a summer con. Specifically those fun oddly colored
dice that came in all the boxed sets of the 1980s. Both my basic
and expert sets came with a d4, d6, d8, d10, d12 and d20. But most
importantly they came with a crayon also to "ink" them.

This was a
fun experience and one I hope they bring back in the 5E basic set for
nostalgia. Being 10ish years old I still had a respectable crayon
collectio
n available to ink dice with. Those early sets only came with a white crayon. After the dice were all inked they went proudly inside a Crown Royal
bag. You see back in the 80s you were not cool unless you had one.
You can still ink dice by ordering
Gamescience unpainted sets and color them up. So who else recalls doing this and still has some vintage
dice that survived the carpets of the 80s and that foul beast known as
the vacuum cleaner?
